Annie Manly - Partner  

Annie joined the Inland Revenue in 1973 and spent four years working in a district office dealing with PAYE, directors' liabilities and the self-employed, as well as arranging the hearing of appeals by the general commissioners.

Annie then received support from IBM to obtain a degree in Business Studies, majoring in Accountancy and Company Law, and graduating with honours in 1981. Over the following ten years Annie worked for two medium sized independent firms of accountants, building up knowledge and experience on accountancy matters. Annie specialised in personal and business taxation, including tax planning, trusts and dealing with Lloyds Underwriters.

In 1991 Annie decided to set up her own practice, firstly working from home. However, as the practice grew well it moved to Bosinney Court in 1993, doubling the amount of office space occupied again in 1996. Annie now deals with matters relating to accounts, VAT, limited companies and business planning as well as being overall office manager.

Staff Structure  

Annie appreciates the excellent support of the whole team. Mark Davis is our accounts manager, dealing with the preparation of financial and management accounts, as well as VAT Returns and related matters. He deals with QuickBooks and Sage and provide support to Clients with these packages in particular.

Mark oversees Sha who joined us on 2 April 2007. Although Sha has an MSc in Accounting and Management Science, she has been studying to become ACCA qualified. She is currently undertaking her level 3 stage studies. We are pleased to help support Sha with her studies.

Mark continues to over see Chris who has passed his AAT Foundation exams and is now working on the intermediary AAT exams. Chris has already gained extensive experience and knowledge of our working practices and client base in the time he has been with us.

Colin joined the team to take over the Tax department at the end of July 2007. He was joined by Belinda at the start of September. Between them they have a wealth of knowledge and experience on taxation

Ruth continues to deal with payroll processing for clients. She also helps with accounts preparation and providing book-keeping support, in particular she gives direct support with spreadsheets for clients and our QuickBooks book-keeping service.

On the secretarial side, the firm is delighted to have Pam. Pam joined over 10 years ago and deals with secretarial matters as well as maintaining stationery and other stock levels. Pam also mans the reception desk and telephones and is the welcoming smile for all our visitors.

Mandy now works as PA to Annie and continues to maintain our database. She is also responsible for our on-line filing and company formation with Companies House and deals with the company secretarial work such as filing of Annual Returns. Mandy also undertakes book-keeping for our clients. She is with us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, being still on a part-time basis at present.

Louise joined us in the autumn of 2003 as office secretary and to support Pam with reception duties. Louise works part time on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Natalie has recently joined us to provide extra support on the secretarial side.

We are proud of the level of support provided by all our staff. We offer a ‘hand-holding’ approach to those of our clients who want this while keeping our involvement to a minimum for those who prefer to do most of their accounting themselves.
